Day 111. Seattle Adventure.

We have never taken our kids into downtown Seattle by ourselves before. Mostly because the thought of it terrified me. Downtown Seattle can be a scary place and with the kids outnumbering Jacob and me, I didn't even want to attempt it.

Now that they are older, though, and (usually) follow our directions, we decided to embark on an adventure into downtown Seattle this weekend.

We started out at the Seattle Center, where we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was the 50th anniversary celebration of the Space Needle. We parked for free, got ultra cheap organic donuts ($1 ea) and the kids were given free balloons and buttons.

We then boarded the monorail - a first for all of us! The kids were SO excited!

The monorail dropped us off at Westlake Center and we hiked our way down to Pike Place Market.

The kids were not impressed with Pike Place. In fact, Reece screamed the entire time, "I don't like this place. Get me out of here!" and Chase wanted to know where all the toys were. So we made one quick pass through the market and then took them out to watch the ferry boats.

And finally after a monorail ride back, we ate lunch at the Seattle Center.

It was a gorgeous day and a fun adventure that totally tuckered all of us out.
