FREEDOM

The kids and I ventured out through the neighborhood on a walk today ALL BY OURSELVES, just the 4 of us. A very generous fellow mother of triplets gave us her triple jogging stroller back when I was pregnant (this was a huge gift because these things are very expensive!) and I have been waiting for the kids to get big enough to be able to sit up in it. Jacob and I tested it out last night and they finally fit in it, although since Kate is small it kind of swallows her up, but it still works. So today, when the kids and I were all feeling a little stir crazy, I buckled them up in it and we were off for the first time out of the house by ourselves (not including car rides). It felt amazing to be out walking in the sunshine with my kids without any help. We all really enjoyed it; it was very liberating. After spending nearly 3 months in the hospital and then spending the last 6 months trapped in my own home, relying on Jacob, our families, and volunteers to do virtually anything or go anywhere, I see it as such a blessing to be out and able to walk independently. I never again will take my ability to be out walking freely for granted.

How cute! Isn't it amazing how the little moments mean so much. I bet you were the cutest foursome in Duvall!
