Sometimes I swear the washer or dryer has a hole in it somewhere that swallows single socks up. I mean, where do they go!? I put them in the washer as a pair and when they come out of the dryer, no matching pairs! This is how my laundry basket looks...
Someday I am going to throw all of our socks out. I mean ALL of them! Then we are going to totally start over with plain white socks. The kids will all have the same kind of white socks, Jacob will have one kind of white socks and I will have my white socks. There will be no searching for matches because they will all be the same, just in three different sizes. Don't get me wrong, I love cute socks, but the hassle of matching up pairs is just not worth it!
So in the meantime, I am on a hunt for the perfect white socks for everyone...

Sock stories - how well I remember - seemed like sorting socks was my life!! All white socks work but I marked an initial on the inside of the top of the cuff to keep them separate. At the rate your little ones are growing - do the socks have time to wear out? My oldest would lay at nap time (time for me as much as for him to rest) - he had to stay on the bed and he would frequently find a loose thread and unravel a sock! Too little for it to have been intentional, I think. Still keeping the odds and ends of socks to match up eventually. Socks frequerly cling to other clothes or inside teh corners of fitted sheets etc. Hang in there.
UH! Socks are my arch nemesis! I hate socks, Clem hates socks and Cam wears his out in like 30 seconds.
We did have to start all over with Clem's socks. I just couldn't take it anymore!
I only have one little pair to deal with, I don't know how you manage three pairs each day!!!
exactly why whenever you see me I am not wearing matching socks. I finally threw them all away when I moved and started fresh. It may seem wasteful but its worth your sanity.

I bought a small laundry bag from Target for like $2.00 and it hangs in Nolan's closet. When I take his socks off at night, I put them in there and on laundry day, I zip it up and throw it in the washer. Baby socks get sucked out of the dryer and stuck in your vent. Jacob's had to go fish some out before.
Yep...I feel your pain! We always say that "they must have gone to live with Jesus" when we can't find the mate. We have a basket just like yours at our house...full of unmatched socks!
