Book Club

These kids love their books. I mean LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their books!

We own a ton of books and I could probably recite every single one by heart because I've read them to the kids so many times. Any time I sit down near the kids, they all bring books to me, shouting "buh, buh, buh!" and then they all three proceed to try and sit on my lap at the same time.
When I'm not sitting in the room with them, they will even sit and 'read' books by themselves.
Reece is our biggest book worm. I think he would sit all day and listen to stories if someone was willing to sit and read them to him. He is very interested in the stories and spends a lot of his play time looking through books by himself.
Kate is pretty into books too. She likes to help you 'read' the parts she has memorized, like all of the animal noises. She also loves to point out things in the pictures.

Who cares if sometimes the books are upside down?

Chase is not one to sit still very long and listen to stories. He isn't too interested in the words in the books, just the pictures. He is especially obsessed with all pictures of moons, balloons, and balls. He knows all of these words and where all of these objects can be found in just about every book we own. He will sit forever, turning the pages back and forth pointing at his favorite things and saying their names. He gets mad when you try to read him a story because he doesn't want to look at ALL of the pages, just the ones with moons, balloons, and balls.
Their most favorite books include:
Chicka Chicka ABC
My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs
The Going to Bed Book
Peek a Who?
Hooray for Fish (Kate's favorite!)
Old Hat, New Hat
Brown Bear, Brown Bear
Night Night, Little Pookie (Reece's favorite!)
and Chase especially loves all books by Sandra Boynton because she always puts lots of moons in her books.

I hope they always love books as much as they do right now.

Your post delights this grandma and former librarian. What a valuable 'head start' they have in appreciating the wonders and new worlds that emerge in reading a book. You and Jacob are providing a firm foundation for your precious little ones!
