Eppy Love

All three of our kids are totally obsessed with eppies (airplanes).
They can hear one before adult ears can even detect one.
They can spot one that an adult would never notice.
And whenever they hear or see one anywhere (on TV, a picture of one, one on the ground, one in the air, etc) it always results in them all screaming,
"EPPY! EPPY! EPPY!"

Therefore, we do a lot of airplane watching. There are two small airfields near our house, so we do a lot of drive-bys looking for eppies.

Last night, we took them to Harvey Field in Snohomish to watch airplanes take off and land.
It was the perfect evening for it.

Then Daddy had to help them fly in the sky just like an eppy.

The only thing Chase likes more than airplanes is balloons, so when we saw 4 hot air balloons flying in the sky while watching airplanes, the kid got so excited that he was almost in tears.
He shouted "Bool! Bool! Bool!" (aka balloon) so much that I thought he might go hoarse.
I think Harvey Field might be one of our new favorite places.

Reece, Chase and Kate,

I love airplanes too and I am a pilot. When the three of you get a bit older and with Mommy and Daddy's permission, drop by my office at Harvey Field and I will have one of my Commercial Pilots take all three of you up on a real airplane ride. Mommy and Daddy can come along too.

The next time you visit Harvey Field to watch airplanes, skydivers and balloons, stop by the airport office to say hello and have your picture taken in the cockpit of an airplane.

Keep dreaming about the freedom of flight....
