Back to School

We decided to give toddler school another go around this year, but at a different school this time. We enrolled them at Cornerstone Academy, which is located at the church we've been attending. I love that fact that it's a Christian-based program and that I don't have to stay with them during their weekly class. That's right, 2 hours of kid-free time for Mama!!

Here are some pics of the kiddos on their first day of school.

And here's a side-by-side look at how much they've grown in the last year...

Their first day of school was a difficult day for me. I've been away from the kids plenty of times before, but I've always left them with a family member or have been in the same building as them (like at church), so this was the first time I had left them with a complete stranger and had driven away. I'll admit that I cried my eyes out and was back to spy on them after only 45 minutes. I know, I'm a total nut job :) Unlike me, however, the kids were completely fine and didn't even seem to notice my absence.

So far, school is going very well. The kids LOVE going and they are quite fond of their teacher. Every time they get home, each of them tell me their favorite part of the day. Last time Reece enjoyed playing with the parachute in the gym, Kate had fun playing with the pretend kitchen, and Chase liked playing with the trucks. And each week it's gotten a little easier for me to walk away :)
