The boys view flushing as a reward for peeing in the toilet.
After they did their business in the toilet this morning, they each flushed. And flushed. And flushed. After putting a stop to this and explaining that we only get to flush one time per use, I packed up the kids and we left the house.
Little did I know, they had caused the toilet water to keep running.
Two hours later we returned home to find the septic alarm blaring and the orange alarm light flashing.
It was then that I realized the toilet had been running the entire time we were gone! After shutting down the system and making some frantic calls, I learned that the kids had overloaded the tanks and the system needed 24 hours to readjust itself.
That means no major water usage for 24 hours. No washing machine, no dishwasher, no baths. Oy vey.

I feel your pain. We have been without water since yesterday aft. The plumber is here now. YAY!! Keep your chin up - maybe go to a resort for the night with an indoor water park!!
