Day 218. Reptiles.

This event actually occurred yesterday while we were at the fair, but it deserved a separate post...

I am terrified of snakes. I absolutely detest them.
They horrify me so much that I even squeeze my eyes shut if they are on TV.

I don't want my kids to be afraid of them, but they freak me out so bad that I could never take them to see any.

Well lo and behold, while we were at the fair yesterday, The Reptile Man was putting on a free show. If I had been alone with the kids, I never would have taken them to see it, but since my friend, Kim, thought it would be fun for the kids, I begrudgingly went along with it.

Luckily Kim is a good friend and agreed to sit in the front row with all five kids while I cowered in the background, averting my eyes.

And fortunately the show was much more than snakes; there were turtles, alligators, and lizards too, which don't bug me at all.

But then toward the end of the show, The Reptile Man asked for volunteers.
In my head, I was begging my kids not to volunteer, but...

...Reece volunteered and was chosen
and The Reptile Man brought out the most disgusting snake for him to help hold.

I was horrified, disgusted and proud all at the same time.

I can't believe I actually posted this picture on our blog - EEEEWWWW!!
