Our kids are in love with large, moving vehicles -
fire trucks, garbage trucks, buses, tractors, semi trucks, and so on.
They call most of the above mentioned, "doot doos".
I have no idea why.
So to further fuel their love of doot doos,
I took them to a tour of the Monroe Fire Station to get an up-close and personal look at the fire trucks.
They could have cared less about the fire men, the uniforms, the equipment, the fire house.
They just wanted to see the fire trucks!
They got to inspect the entire exterior of the trucks,
and sit in the cab,
and they even got to go for a ride around the block in one of the fire trucks!
The fire men were super gracious and they even sent us home with our own fire hats.

Cute! Nolan is the same way with trucks! It's weird how much he loves garbage trucks in particular. Have you watched any of the "Monster Machines" movies? I found one for $5 at Target with fire trucks AND garbage trucks. They just follow real trucks around town, doing their jobs. The voices are annoying, but Nolan is mesmerized when I turn it on.
Never heard of Monster Machines, but will definitely have to check that out!!! Thanks for the info :)
