Yesterday evening our dogs got into a little scuffle and when I tried to break it up, my hand was inadvertently bitten. At first I didn't think it was a big deal; just a a few minor puncture wounds on my finger. As the night wore on, however, my finger got really swollen and sore. By this morning, the swelling and pain had traveled into the palm of my hand and was spreading to some other fingers. Then I knew this was not a minor injury.
I will spare you all of the medical details, but the injury is a serious one and the doctor has instructed me not to use my (right) hand at all and to keep it elevated in a sling at all times.
Do you know how hard it is to run a household with three little children and not be able to use your right hand at all!?
