The Biter

We've got a biter.
Chase has a lot of teeth (15 of 'em!) and uses them to his advantage when he gets mad at his brother and sister.
It's his best defense when they steal his toys or get in his space.
Can't say I blame him, but nevertheless, I've made it clear that biting is NOT okay.
He's just not getting it though.
And man oh man does it hurt when he bites our fingers while we are brushing his teeth!
It always makes me scream in pain, which in turn makes him cry.

The other morning, the kids had been playing by themselves in the playroom for a bit. There was no crying, no screaming, no fighting.
I went in to hang out with them and noticed two huge red bite marks on Reece's arm.
Bruises were already starting to appear.
Poor little Reece.
Of course, I knew Chase did it. He's the biter, after all.
But since I didn't catch him in the act, there was nothing I could do about it.
But still I wondered, why didn't I hear Reece cry or scream? Strange. Maybe he's getting used to it.

A little while later as the kids were eating their morning snack, I looked over at Reece and he was biting his own arm! Then it occurred to me that they were all self-inflicted bite marks!
No wonder he didn't cry.
I held his arm up to see if all of the bite marks matched up to his mouth and they were a perfect fit.
Sorry, Chase, I shouldn't have blamed you.
