It's been hot up here in the Pacific Northwest lately.
Okay, not that hot.
But we aren't accustomed to the heat here and we practically melt if it gets above 80 degrees.
I mean, most of us don't have air-conditioning and that makes for a HOT house.
So I've been trying to come up with lots of activities to get us out of the house and keep cool.
Most days that just consists of having a picnic in the park and then playing with water in our driveway at home.
And of course, we eat lots of popsicles.
But we have also
spent a few days playing in Aunt Amy's backyard and cooling down in her air conditioned home,
hung out with my best friend, Dani, and her twin girls, Riley and Morgan, at the Everett Golf Club pool,
(Riley)
(Morgan)
and I took them to Willis Tucker spray park, but it was WAY too crowded for my liking.
After I let the kids out of the wagon, they ran in three different directions and I lost them for a split second among the sea of kids. Panic set in, so I rounded them all up and put them back in the wagon and high-tailed it outta there.
We ended up having a picnic in the shade instead.
We've had a lot of fun, but now it seems that the kids have become accustomed to going somewhere every day and they get pretty grouchy when I decide we just need a day at home.
They are going to be in for a real shock when fall rolls around!
