I want to do it myself!

Eating solids is going great, although it is very messy and quite time consuming! Why was I ever in a hurry to get to this stage!? I guess it was because this means we are one step closer to them being more independent...oh how I dream about saying "Go put your pj's on" or "Go take a shower." Won't that be wonderful!
So far they've tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, bananas, carrots, peas, and pears and have loved all of them. They eat and eat until I stop giving it to them. I think they would eat until they threw up if I let them. I hope this is not an indication of how their appetites will be later down the road - we will be spending a fortune in groceries! They all try to grab the spoon out of my hand and "help" when I am feeding them. This is not helpful. Food ends up everywhere - eyebrows, hair, ears, I even found some carrots stuck up on the cabinet the other day. They also are very eager to hold their own sippy cups and grab at them when I give them water. We always end up with soaking wet clothes. I usually give them the empty sippy cups to play with after the meal is over so they can practice using them. Here are pictures of them "practicing" this morning after they had eaten their cereal.Reece has pretty much figured out how to use the sippy cup, he just hasn't figured out that you have to tip it up to get anything out of it. And yes, I realize he was wearing a pink bib, the manly colored ones were in the wash.
Kate still hasn't quite figured out which part the water comes out of, but she knows some part of the sippy cup goes in her mouth.Chase isn't too interested in using the sippy cup himself yet. He plays with it for a little bit, licks it, and then throws it on the floor. It's funny when Mama says "Uh oh!" and gets it for him over and over again.
