Day 64. Early Risers.

Kate and Chase are early birds. Some mornings they've gotten up as early as 4:30am. One of them usually gets up and goes to wake the other one up and then they go wake up Reece together. Mornings like that make for one grouchy Mama and one cranky Reece.

After battling with them to keep them in bed until at least 6:30am, we decided enough was enough and we bought each of them a special toddler clock that signals to them when it is okay to get out of bed.

The clock glows yellow like a night light at night and turns green in the morning when it is okay to get up. I've been trying to slowly train them to stay in bed later and later. As of right now, the clock turns green at 6:50am, but I'm hoping to eventually stretch that to 7am.

They now obligingly stay in bed until the clock turns green, but we are still working on being quiet while waiting for wake up time. Every morning starting at about 6:15 they start yelling, "MAMA! MOM! MOMMY! WHEN IS MY CLOCK GOING TO TURN GREEN?"

ours do that too. I hear, "mommy, green light is broken!" and "abra-dabra green light go off!" And we have alligators, elephants, lions, and porcupines running around our house :)

Ugh! Nolan still wakes up around 6:00 every morning. We bought him the owl (same company I think), but it only worked for a few days. If he doesn't get out of bed to come get me he just yells "Mommy! Mommy!" and I'm afraid he'll wake Milo so I always get him. He wins. Ugh. Maybe we'll try the clock. I'm glad it's working for you!
