Day 82. Scissors.

After flailing at the craft at library story hour today, which involved cutting, I realized it was time I gave the kids a lesson on scissor usage. Back at home, I rummaged through my teaching supplies and located some "safety scissors" (as the kids call them). After teaching them how to hold the scissors and warning them to only use scissors on paper and to never poke anyone with them, I let them loose with scraps of paper.

The activity kept the boys interested for a whole 10 minutes. I think Chase was frustrated holding the scissors because he's a lefty and I only had right-handed scissors! But Kate, on the other hand, sat and cut and glued her scraps long after the boys had left the table.
