It's a three-ring circus...

when I'm by myself, that is. This really is a three-person job, but unfortunately I have to spend a lot of the day doing a one-woman juggling act with these kiddos. A glimpse into a small portion of my day looks something like this: all three babies are propped up in their boppies with their burp rags tucked around their necks and are eating with their bottles propped up while I sit in the middle of them watching them with my hawk eyes. And even though I stagger their start times a bit, it inevitably ends up with one baby guzzling down his bottle in a matter of minutes and needing to be burped immediately so that he does not spew milk all over himself, one baby flapping his arms and wiggling his head around so that his bottle ends up coming out of his mouth and spilling into his neck rolls, and the third baby either falling asleep while drinking her bottle and needing to be jostled awake or screaming at the top of her lungs because she wants more milk or wants to be held while she eats. And all of this is going on simultaneously. It's times like these that I have to practice my deep breathing skills and remember that the circus won't be in town forever. And yes, I have tried feeding them one at a time; this is even worse because it takes about an hour and a half, meanwhile the ones not being fed are screaming their little heads off. Changing diapers, getting them down for naps, cuddle time, and play time are a whole other story. Thankfully Grandma Judy comes for a few hours every afternoon to help and Daddy is a huge help in the wee hours of the early morning and in the evenings. If only I could clown (I mean clone) myself during the day...sigh.

Erin,

What a great way to be busy!! Do you even remember Pre-Babies!

Sounds like all the babies are doing well. Kudos to you both for doing a great job eventhough it probably doesn't always seem like it.

Miss you.
Take care.
