My how they've changed
Yesterday they turned 4 months old and have changed so much in the short time they've been alive.
Reece rolled over yesterday from front to back for the first time! I was so excited that I cheered loudly and you would have thought I'd won the lottery! We made him do it twice just to be sure the first time wasn't a fluke. He can also push himself up on his arms when he's on his tummy. He has become very active and loves to kick and flap his arms in excitement - this has made feeding and changing him rather challenging. Jacob calls this Reece's jitterbug dance and always sings the jitterbug song to him. He also has become quite communicative (in addition to his nightly fit throwing) and loves to smile, laugh, and coo at us. He has a death-grip and loves to grab onto anything that comes near his hands, whether it be your hair, skin, or his toys.
Kate has become quite a little flirt with her huge toothless grin and her tiny little girly giggle. She is not quite as cranky as she used to be and cries a whole lot less and spends a lot more time "talking" and trying to get us to pay attention to her. She is great at using her own leg muscles to stand as long as we are supporting her upper body - she absolutely loves to do this and would spend her whole day standing if her legs didn't get so tired. She has grown from a skin and bones little preemie baby into a cute chubby petite little girl who can now finally wear 3-month old clothes! We think she is absolutely beautiful.
Chase is still our strongest little one and although he may look chunky, he is just solid muscle. He can push way up on his arms when he is on his tummy and moves his arms and legs back and forth in a crawling motion, so I am sure one of these days he is just going to take off crawling! Chase is very calm and loves to sit in his chair looking around. He has the hugest smile and loves to smile at nothing in particular, mainly the big clock on the wall. He also loves to make new sounds and blow spit bubbles all over the place. He has recently learned how to make the motorboat sound with his lips while spraying spit everywhere. He has very strong neck and upper body muscles and can almost sit upright with no support, of course he needs help getting up into the seated position, but once there he can pretty much just sit there on his own. Chase is very patient and independent, unless he gets hungry, then watch out, he can scream in the most high-pitched voice that sounds like a pterodactyl screeching!
