I'm sure you've probably noticed that in just about every picture of the kids, someone is holding a bunny.
I don't know how it started. Reece discovered his love of bunnies first and had to have one at all times. Then Kate caught on to the bunny-goodness and then she also had to have one at all times. Yes, this results in fights over bunnies and fit-throwing when they can't have one.
I have to admit that the bunny obsession is nice most of the time though because when everyone is crying, I can give 2 of the kids a bunny and they quiet down. When I have to leave them with someone else, the bunnies are a comfort to them. We own a ton of bunnies and keep them spread throughout the house so they are always near.
But then there's Chase. He doesn't care for bunnies. He doesn't suck his thumb like the other two do. It seems that I, his mommy, am his comfort object. This presents quite a problem when I have to leave him. I asked our pediatrician what we could do about his separation anxiety. She suggested that we find a comfort item for him. We tried a variety of stuffed animals and blankies. The boy just wanted his momma. Even though it's a pain, I secretly love that he loves me so much :)
When we put the kids to bed, we zip them up in their sleep sacks, give them their comfort items (except for Chase) and say "Night-Night." Every time we put Chase to bed he attacks his sleep sack, sucks it, chews on it, and just loves it. He goes through a lot of sleep sacks because he stains them all up and chews up the zippers.
We started to notice that every time we played upstairs, Chase would go in his room, pull the sleep sack out of his crib and drag it around with him as he played. A few days ago, Jacob brought Chase downstairs after a nap with his sleep sack. The kid dragged it around with him all day, everywhere he went. He was so happy to have it with him!
I remembered that I had hung on to one of his mangled sleep sacks, so I gave that one to him and we now have a comfort item for Chase! We call it his 'snugglie' and he loves it. You may notice it was with him in yesterday's pictures in the car and at the doctor's office.
Here are some pictures of the kids toting their "buddies" around with them today.
And napping with them too.

So cute! This is one of my favorite post. Hold onto you being the kids first choice of comfort for as long as possible. You'll miss it when they're older. Kate looks so happy to see you after nap!
This cracked me up! Love the bunnies and love the snugglie! Kids are so funny:)
Looks like your kids are wearing Halo sleepsacks. They are the best! Not only are they safe, but the kiddos look so cute wearing them.
