Duvall Days

So we've lived in Duvall for 5 years now and we've never gone down to Duvall Days, which is the city's annual outdoor festival, with a parade, booths, food, animals, and all of those fun things a town festival includes. This year we decided it would be fun to take the kids out in their stroller and do Duvall Days. Oh boy, what an adventure! We didn't make it down in time for the parade because getting three babies and yourselves ready and out the door before 11:00 is almost impossible. I highly doubt the kids could have sat still and watched a parade anyways. So we walked downtown and got there just as the parade was ending and you would have thought that we were a parade by ourselves walking down Main Street with hoards of people staring and gawking at us. I even caught one old guy taking our picture. The streets were teeming with people and it was quite overwhelming trying to navigate our triple wide stroller through all of the people with every other person trying to stop and talk to us. I would guesstimate that at least 100 people or more commented on our babies. Here are some things we heard as we tried to ignore people and keep pushing through the crowd.
Wow! Three?
Triplets!
Do you get any sleep?
I bet you two are tired.
They look like little dolls.
AWESOME (with a thumb's up)!
Are they identical?
Awwwww. How cute.
That must be a nightmare.
Thank God we only have ONE!
They look just like you two!
Ouch! That must have hurt!

But mostly is was just people shouting "Triplets!" It got annoying really fast. But it was nice to get out. The kids got to see cows, goats, donkeys, horses, and dogs. There were lots of those big blow up bouncy toys for kids; too bad they are too little yet to enjoy such fun things. The kids got cranky fast and after we did one loop with C-Man screaming his head off, we headed back up the big hill towards home. It started to rain and Reece and Kate fell asleep, while I had to carry the screaming Chase in my arms until he fell asleep. By the time we got up the hill I was sweating so bad, I had to rip my coat off. That kid is HEAVY! They were all exhausted and crashed as soon as we got home.

Oh, my goodness... You have no idea who I am, and I discovered your blog one day while randomly browsing through blogs. The title caught my attention, and it happened to be the day you were going into labor, so I bookmarked it to check back and see how things went. I've been a blog stalker ever since, enjoying your stories and rooting for you through your journey with your little ones. Anyways, a while back you mentioned someone walking a horse in Duvall, and I thought that would be too much of a coincidence since I live in Duvall, WA. So I assumed it was Duvall somewhere else. Well this post confirmed Duvall, WA. What a crazy, small world. I hope you don't think I'm a crazy person, I just can't believe we live in the same town. From what I've read, you are an amazing mom and the kiddos are so lucky to have you. Enough of the novel... take care!
