First Bites

We started feeding the babies solids on Saturday and while it was fun, it was also a big production. We fed them their bottles first, then set up all the high chairs, buckled them in, put their bibs on, mixed up the cereal, and then their first bites of real food were taken! Kate seemed to enjoy it the most and ate several bites, while the boys kind of tasted it and then either drooled it out or spit it out. Needless to say, they did not eat much. They looked so cute sitting up in their high chairs though!

Each day they are eating a little more at a time. Chase will eat about 4 or 5 bites and then make a gagging noise like he is about to throw up along with making a wretched face, so I always know when he is done. I don't think he likes rice cereal very much. Kate and Reece are pretty good eaters. We tried water in a sippy cup yesterday and it all ended up all over them, but today Chase actually guzzled it like he was dying of thirst. We also tried sweet potatoes today and they loved it. Reece actually was crying for more! It sure made a big mess though, with orange colored drool all over everything!

It is a lot of work to get all of the high chairs set up, get the babies buckled in and bibs on, make the cereal, feed all three of them, clean them up, get them out of the high chairs, and put the high chairs away all by myself. By the time we are done I am ready to go to bed and then I look at the clock and it's only 7:30 am! And then I always think, Oh boy do I have a long way to go today...
