Happy Father's Day

We wanted Father's Day to be special for Jacob because despite being thrown a triplet challenge that he never imagined, he has become the most giving, caring, wonderful Daddy on the face of the Earth. His unconditional love for his children is always evident and I know he will ALWAYS embrace them with open arms no matter how old they get and no matter what challenges they throw at him (and there have been plenty so far and they are only 6 months old!). He is an awesome role model as he always has a positive attitude and a smile on his face. I am so lucky that my kids will grow up looking up to Jacob as their father. My handsome guys

We started the day early as usual. Sleeping in no longer exists in this household, even if it is the weekend. The kids all gathered in Reece's bed with their cards all ready to give to Daddy (yes, I may be anal, but I did not color coordinate their cards to their outfits, it was mere coincidence, honestly!).
We made Daddy his favorite breakfast and then after a whirlwind of changing, feeding bottles, feeding rice cereal, cleaning them up, and getting them to take a quick nap, we got them all dressed up for church. It was going to be a big day because they were going to be baptized by Grandpa Bill and Grandma Sue, Grandpa Ken, Grandma Judy, and Aunt Allison were all going to be at church too!
We were a bit nervous on the way to church that we would be standing in front of the whole congregation with 3 screaming babies as they were baptized. So, when we got to church, I shielded Chase so that no one could look at him or talk to him before the baptism and I kept him in the dark, quiet cry room until it was time. We have discovered that he does not like strangers in his face or touching him, actually he doesn't even like strangers looking at him. Thankfully the baptism occurred very early in the service before meltdowns occurred. Chase went first and did just fine until Grandpa turned him around to face the audience and then he let loose! There were too many strangers looking at him! That child can scream! Kate was second and acted like a little angel in her pretty dress. She was very curious as to what Grandpa was doing. And last, but not least, Reece was baptized. He was also very curious and unleashed his death grip on Grandpa Bill's robe, so Grandpa had to pry his tiny hands free in order to lift him up after the baptism. There was lots of oooohs and ahhhhs after each child child was held up. They are just so darn adorable. And yes, I did purposely color-coordinate all of our outfits this time. I told you I was anal!

Jacob wanted to stay and enjoy the rest of the service, so we took the children down to the nursery so they didn't cause such a ruckus in the sanctuary. Chase continued to be upset and screamed until we put him in the car and Kate melted down at the end too as she was just too tired. But Reece held strong and was such a good boy.
Once we got them in the car, they all immediately zonked out, so we kept driving for an hour and a half just to give them the much needed rest. We were so tired when we finally got home.

Grandma Judy and Grandpa Bill came over that evening to hang out. Here is a picture of Jacob and Grandpa Bill playing with the little princess. She is such a Daddy's girl.
It was a good day.
